In 2018/19 the women's team finished second in the 3. Liga West, behind USC Münster II — and it was Münster's decision to decline promotion that opened the door to the 2. Bundesliga for Ostbevern instead. COVID-19 infections forced a relegation back out of the division in 2020/21. It took another runner-up finish, behind MTV 48 Hildesheim in 2021/22, to earn the return the following season.

The Ostbevenerinnen, as the women's sides are known locally, play in blue, black and white and have built a run of near-misses rather than titles — a third vice-championship in the 3. Liga West came in 2017/18, behind Sportfreunde Aligse. Matches at home are watched from the Beverhalle, which has 259 seats.

The current head coach, Dominik Münch, took charge of the team.

Volleyball at Ostbevern dates to 1972, when the women's department was set up inside BSV Ostbevern, a multi-sport club founded in the town on 1 May 1923.
