Lina Alsmeier and Diane Seybering both came up through the same youth pathway before going on to wear their country's colours.
The senior side spent years working through the Regionalliga Nordwest before finishing as runners-up and beating TVA Hürth in the promotion playoff to reach the 3. Liga West for the 2023/24 season. They have not dropped back down since, closing the 2025/26 campaign in second place in the division.
Emsbüren is not a town used to national attention, which is part of why a 2022 stunt — building the world's largest potato pancake — travelled further than most of the club's volleyball results ever have. The team it fed into traces back to 1947, when residents of the Leschede district put the club together in the first place.
