Schweriner II Women

The reserve side plays under that shadow, in the 2. Bundesliga North, at the Volleyballhalle am Lambrechtsgrund, a 400-seat hall far removed from the crowds the first team draws for its meetings with Dresdner SC, the fixture known in Germany as the Ostderby.

For seven years the team carried its own identity as VC Olympia Schwerin, folded back into the parent club's structure in 2021. It plays for no trophy of its own — German rules keep reserve sides out of the cup and off the promotion ladder into the top flight — and its purpose lies elsewhere, in the players it sends upward. Elisa Lohmann and Sabrina Krause both passed through this level before the senior side took them.

The blue and yellow shirts change little from year to year; the honours board carries the parent club's thirteen championships, not the reserve team's own, which reads: zero.
