Dynamo Stadium

In 1965, with cosmonauts Pavel Belyaev and Alexei Leonov due for a reception after their Voskhod-2 flight, an ongoing reconstruction was rushed through so the ground would be ready in time.

The ground itself has seen it out through some odd turns.

The playing surface has not been grass for two decades: a French-made artificial pitch, Prestige XT, replaced the turf in 2005 and was refreshed again in 2023. Capacity has moved only downward since — plastic seating cut the historic 10,040 to 8,900 in 1999, and with the East stand closed since 2009 over structural wear, only the West stand takes spectators now.
