Concepción's stadium carries the name of the mayor who pushed the redevelopment through, Ester Roa Rebolledo. It opened on 16 September 1962, and the reconstruction of 2012–2015, undertaken for the 2015 Copa América, cost somewhere between 30,100 and 31,500 million pesos. The old open terraces went; in their place came concrete stands under a single roof running the length of the ground.

None of that touches the record still standing from the amateur era: 43,340 people inside for Huachipato against Colo-Colo on 12 November 1967.
