Stadium
Estadio Municipal Las Gaunas
Logroño, Spain
Formerly: old Las Gaunas stadium (demolished in 2002)
Estadio Municipal Las Gaunas replaced a stadium that had stood on the same patch of the city since 1924 — that older ground came down in 2002.
Grupo ACS carried out the construction at a cost of around 20 million euros. The city still owns the ground through the Ayuntamiento de Logroño, and Logroño Deporte runs it day to day.
The pitch itself is natural grass, 104 by 66 metres, and the ground holds 16,000. SD Logroñés plays its home fixtures here.
Even the address carries a small note of confusion — the municipal authority lists it on Avda. de la Sierra, while other references point to Av. del Moncalvillo or Avenida República Argentina.
