Estadio Nuevo "El Maulí"
Antequera, Spain
The ground in Antequera is an afterthought in the province of Málaga. The concrete slabs of the main stand are showing their age, and the municipal government recently had to pay for repairs to stop the cracks from spreading further. The old Campo Municipal El Maulí was demolished because developers wanted the land for housing, and the current stadium was built to take its place in 1983.
The capacity is small, a modest 6,000 with only half of that in seats. The municipal government invested in a video scoreboard and new seats in the main stand following the club's promotion to the Primera Federación in 2023. The concrete is cracking again, and the owners are looking for a second natural grass field for training because the surface has had to be replaced recently.
There is no name on the door. It is simply Estadio El Maulí, a name that has stuck since the new structure opened its doors. The first match played here was a friendly against a Brazilian side, América FC, which the local team lost.
