FFKR Football Center Stadium

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

The federation built itself a working ground. The Football Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic owns and runs the pitch on Mederova Street, in the Oktyabrsky District of Bishkek, and it is where the federation sends the football it needs to house: youth national sides at under-17 and under-18, and a cluster of development teams — FC-96, FC-95, FC-98, KG United — that carry their birth years for names.

That has consequences. On 31 August 2003 it staged the Kyrgyz Cup final, SKA PVO Bishkek beating Jashtyk Ak Altyn Kara-Suu 1–0, and the crowd recorded that afternoon was twice what the ground is meant to hold. The Cup came to the federation's own training-standard pitch and the ground absorbed it; nobody has claimed since that the arrangement was comfortable.

By that season the venue was already in regular use for Premier League fixtures and hosted several of the SuperLeague playoff matches, so its history in the domestic game runs back at least that far, whatever went before.

The senior Kyrgyzstan national team plays elsewhere, at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium across the city, and the division of labour has stuck. Today the ground is home to FC Ilbirs Bishkek and has taken in Ala-Too Naryn as well. The surface is natural grass, kept for teams that use it several times a week rather than once a fortnight.
