The FOK Zarechye is a sports facility built on a grid of concrete in the Molitovka microdistrict of Nizhny Novgorod. The capacity of the main hall has always been a matter of negotiation between the local sports federations and the municipal records. The complex opened its doors on December 12, 2010, following a city-wide initiative by Governor Valery Shantsev to modernise public health infrastructure. Construction began in 2006, though the official records are not uniform on the timeline. Cian.ru suggests the work was not completed until 2011. The discrepancy is minor. The facility has existed for over a decade, long enough to become the de facto home for amateur football teams such as FC Zarechye-2018-2.

What distinguishes the venue is not its architecture but its multiplicity. While the main hall hosts the professional volleyball side, the complex also contains a 25-meter swimming pool and a 56x26-meter ice rink. It is a place where the sounds of a hockey puck hitting the boards might mix with the squeak of trainers on a wooden floor. It is not a landmark. It is a workplace.
