Fotbalový stadion Střelecký ostrov

Střelecký ostrov — Marksmen's Island, and the ground has occupied it since 1940, the year it opened. The reconstruction that followed decades later took the whole thing apart in stages rather than at once: new stands went up in the west, east and south in June 2003, the north stand followed in August 2006, and the roofline that now runs blue and translucent over all four sides only closed the picture in 2008. The old capacity of 12,000 came down to 6,681 in the process, and undersoil heating was added that July.

The record attendance still belongs to the ground before that rebuild: 12,000 for Dynamo's derby against Sparta Praha on 9 May 1987, a figure the reduced capacity has made unrepeatable.

What the renovation earned the stadium was recognition beyond the second tier of Czech venues. On 29 March 2011, it hosted the national team for a Euro 2012 qualifier against Liechtenstein, Milan Baroš and Michal Kadlec scoring in a 2:0 win watched by 6,681 — the ground's first full house under the new roof and one of the few times a full Czech international has been staged outside Prague.

Before 1 January 2009 the ground carried a sponsor's name, E.ON Stadion; it has gone by Fotbalový stadion Střelecký ostrov since. The city of České Budějovice owns it, and SK Dynamo have played there without interruption since the opening, on natural grass, on an island that gives the stadium its name and little else in the way of company.
