Futbalové ihrisko Brezovica

Brezovica nad Torysou fields a village team, Sokol Brezovica, that plays in the lower tiers of the Slovak league system, and the pitch off Brezovica 59 rarely draws attention outside the Sabinov district. In the 2024/25 Slovnaft Cup, Sokol Brezovica drew Košice, the club from the Slovak top flight.

There is no record of when the pitch was laid out, and no sponsor name has ever been attached to it — it has simply been the Brezovica ground, unchanged in that respect. The surface is natural grass, kept to the standard a village side needs rather than one built for cup football, which is part of why the Košice visit stood out rather than blending into a routine season. Sokol Brezovica is not to be confused with Oravan Brezovica, a club from a different village of the same name over in the Tvrdošín district — a mix-up easy enough to make on paper, though the two grounds share nothing beyond a name.
