Hala Łuczniczka
Bydgoszcz, Poland
Formerly: Hala Sportowo-Widowiskowa Łuczniczka
It is not a place for football . The wooden parquet inside measures 58 by 38 metres, a standard for the games played here: volleyball and basketball.
The arena sits in the park near the Brda River. A banner on the wall names the sponsor, Grupa Kapitałowa Immobile, a name that has stuck since June 2019.
The capacity grew slowly. It started with just over 6,000 fixed seats in 2002. Folding chairs were added later, and then a planned expansion pushed the total to 8,764. The teams that play here—KS Pałac Bydgoszcz, Chemik Bydgoszcz, Łuczniczka Bydgoszcz, Astoria Bydgoszcz, and Artego Bydgoszcz—know the courts well. They have played on this surface for years.
The building hosted the 2009 European Women's Volleyball Championship and the 2014 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship. It also saw the 2009 and 2011 European basketball championships. The architect, Zenon Nowacki, designed the hall between 2001 and 2002. The construction company was 'Inter-Bud'. The address is ul. Toruńska 59.
The teams have not won since, but they keep playing on the parquet.
