BKS Bostik Bydgoszcz

Bydgoszcz built its volleyball identity around a single hall: Łuczniczka, home to the city's men's side since the ground went up, seats 6,082 for the sport and gives the team, grey, white and red, the nickname Bydgoszczanie. The club itself has worn five names since it began life in 1956 as the volleyball section of the multi-sport Budowlany Klub Sportowy, running through Chemik, Transfer and Delecta before settling on BKS Visła Proline Bydgoszcz.

It held a place in the top-tier PlusLiga from 2006 to 2020, its best finish fourth in the 2012/13 season, before relegation ended that run. What followed was not decline but a settled pattern: bronze in the second-tier I Liga four seasons running, from 2021 to 2024, on top of the silver won in 2006 that first sent the club up. The championship itself and the Polish Cup have both stayed out of reach, though the team reached the Cup semi-finals twice, in 2009/10 and again in 2012/13, and went as far as the semi-finals of the CEV Challenge Cup that same year.

Matches against CUK Anioły Toruń carry the weight of the Derby of Kuyavia and Pomerania, the closest and oldest rivalry the club has.
