Mateusz Linda has led Kluczbork's scoring since joining in 2022. The club was founded when a group at the Adam Mickiewicz Comprehensive School put together a student sports team in March 2012. On 24 June 2021 the club dropped the student designation and became KKS Mickiewicz Kluczbork. The closest it has come to silverware since was the 2021/22 Puchar zielona-energia.com, lost in the final to Exact Systems Norwid Częstochowa.
President Mariusz Łysiak doubles as head coach, working alongside assistant Dawid Obłąk. Kluczbork now competes in the Tauron 1. Liga, the Polish second tier, in red and black, and its matches against Stal Nysa are contested as the "Derby Opolszczyzny" — the Derby of Opole Land. The players have taken to calling the hall "twierdza Kluczbork," the Kluczbork Fortress, though the ground itself, the Hala widowiskowo-sportowa OSiR, seats only 500.
