Bedzin

Robert Milczarek is one of the names Będzin volleyball still attaches to itself. The present club, MKS Będzin, was put together in 2005 in the same city where RKSG Grodziec had played until its liquidation in 2000, and it was later reorganised as a joint-stock company in 2014.

Będzin reached the PlusLiga for the first time in 2014 and stayed seven seasons before dropping back to the 1. Liga in 2021. Getting back up took three more years and two near-misses — runners-up finishes in 2021–22 and 2022–23 — before the club finally won the division outright in 2023–24. A third-place finish in the 1. Liga in 2011–12 sits further back in that same pattern of climbing and falling short. Neither the Polish Cup nor a PlusLiga title has come Będzin's way.

The Będzin Arena seats 2,500, and it is there that visits from Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie are played as the Derby Zagłębia Dąbrowskiego, the Dąbrowa Basin derby, with GKS Katowice standing as the other fixture supporters mark on the calendar. The team plays under the name Będzinianie, a nickname that has stuck to the club through every division it has occupied.

Milczarek's spell in Będzin runs through several of those campaigns.
