Spala

The furthest SMS PZPS Spała has gone in a senior competition is a Polish Cup quarter-final, in the 2015/16 season, where PGE Skra Bełchatów ended the run.

It was founded on 1 September 1995 in Rzeszów. The roll of alumni explains why the federation keeps the project running: Michał Winiarski, Bartosz Kurek and Marcin Możdżonek all came through Spała before their senior careers took them elsewhere, and PZPS still counts the school as the pipeline that fed those names into the national team.

Matches are played at the Hala Wielofunkcyjna inside the Centralny Ośrodek Sportu's Olympic training centre, a 400-seat hall that suits a squad whose purpose is teaching rather than drawing crowds. The closest thing to local rivalry is the fixture against KS Lechia Tomaszów Mazowiecki, played as the "Derby regionu."

Under head coach Jacek Nawrocki, the team remains what it has been since Rzeszów: a school first, a I liga side second, with one Polish Cup quarter-final in 2016 to show for its senior ambitions.
