The Hala Sportowo-Widowiskowa MOSiR in Ciechanów does not open onto a pitch. It is an indoor arena, not a stadium, and that distinction shapes everything about the place.
Opened in January 2006, the hall replaced an older sports facility previously managed by the same municipal centre. The fixed seating capacity is 519 spectators, a figure confirmed by the official municipal website.
After a major renovation completed in August 2023, the venue features a synthetic vinyl sports floor, specifically the Tarkett Omnisports Active+ system. This replaced the original wooden floor in a project costing nearly 700,000 PLN, the first comprehensive surface update since the hall was built. The new floor is certified for international competition standards and is used for handball, basketball, and volleyball.
The arena is the home ground for MKS Jurand Ciechanów, a handball club founded in 1957. Jurand played its home matches in this hall during its historic season in the PGNiG Superliga, the highest Polish handball division, in 2011/2012. It was the club's first time in the top flight.
The venue is managed by the Miejski Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji w Ciechanowie. It has always been known by its full name or simply as Hala MOSiR. Teams from other Polish cities do not use this venue as their home base.
