Kalev Central Stadium

Kalev Central Stadium sits in the Kesklinn district of Tallinn. Opened in 1955 as Komsomoli Staadion, it carried that Soviet-era name until 1989, when Estonia’s national reawakening brought the Kalev Central Stadium title.

The pitch remains natural grass, bordered by an artificial turf field used by youth teams. The stadium has hosted JK Tallinna Kalev across two separate periods, Tallinna Sadam, and Tallinna Sport, though it is not the primary home for FC Flora or FC Levadia, who play at A. Le Coq Arena. It is also a traditional venue for the Estonian Dance Festival, with the first major festival held there in 1960. The 2022 National Dance Festival marked the completion of the reconstruction, funded without reference to UEFA requirements or an international tournament.

The original plan called for 30,000 seats and 16,000 standing places, but the project was scaled down during construction to a final capacity of 12,000. Only seated figures are now recorded, with 9,908 on the official list.
