FC Zbrojovka Brno arrived that year after its old home, Za Lužánkami, was demolished.
How far back the ground's own history runs depends on where the count starts: some trace football on this site to a pitch opened in 1926 for Sparta Královo Pole, others to a ground laid out in 1941 by Moravská Slavia Brno, with the stadium proper following in 1949. Whichever starting point is used, the numbers have come down a long way since.
A new roof went up over the west stand in 2015. Capacity has since settled at 10,785, and work scheduled to run through 2026 is due to replace the pitch, floodlights and seating.
