Nankhaka Stadium

There is no grand façade at Nankhaka.

The capacity is modest: five thousand bodies can fit between the touchlines and the low concrete stands. The club that calls this place home, Blue Eagles, plays with a discipline that mirrors the setting.

It is the only ground in the suburb with a proper pitch. Other teams use it when needed. Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have played here, and the women’s teams often gather here for finals.

There are no famous records kept inside these walls. The exact year it was built is lost to the archives, and no one writes down the number of people who show up for a friendly. Yet, on occasion, the space fills completely. When Blue Eagles faced Nyasa Big Bullets, every inch of standing room was taken.
