The National Football Stadium sits on Majeedhee Magu, in the middle of a capital. Opened in 1979 as the Galolhu Rasmee Dhandu Stadium, it carried that name for the better part of three decades before a rebuild ahead of the AFC Challenge Cup gave it its current title, along with a media box.
The pitch is natural grass. The Football Association of Maldives runs the ground, and it has stood as the default stage for the national side and for the country's showcase matches since well before the 2014 works gave it its present look.
