The name is not a French approximation of anything; it is Béarnais dialect, "nouste" meaning "our". Nouste Camp opened in 2018 as the Nouveau Stade de Pau, a plain working name that lasted until a 2021 renovation gave the place its proper, local identity.

It sits in Bizanos, on Chemin de l'Aviation — a modest ground built for a modest crowd, holding just over four thousand. There is no pretence of scale here; this is a stadium sized to what Pau FC actually needs, not to what a bigger ambition might wish for.

The pitch is hybrid turf, natural grass reinforced with synthetic fibres, built to the standard French football's second tier requires — a practical choice for a club that has had to keep pace with promotion rather than a statement of any kind.

Despré took on the design, and what came out of it was, by the club's own account, new and thoroughly functional rather than showy. It remains the only senior football ground in the city, which settles a question other places have to argue over: when Pau plays at home, there is only ever the one place to go.
