The hall sits on Gutenbergstraße 27, a multi-purpose venue that opened in September 1989. It does not have a single permanent identity; instead, it changes shape to suit the sport being played. For indoor football tournaments, a removable synthetic turf system is laid down, a practice confirmed by local reviews, though the permanent floor for volleyball and basketball remains standard. The ceiling sits 9.65 metres high.
It is the home of TV Dingolfing, the women’s volleyball team that has competed in the 2. Bundesliga Pro. Volleybox records 129 matches played within its walls. On November 4, 2023, a DVV-Pokal match drew 423 spectators, while a volleyball festival saw 800 people fill the 1,100 seats. The capacity has not changed since opening.
The building has also served other purposes. In March 2022, it functioned as a refugee shelter, a role reported by BR24. Before that, FC Dingolfing used the floor for a football hall cup in 2007. Teams like TSV Waldkirchen Volleyball and TV 1881 Altdorf have visited for away matches, but the hall belongs to Dingolfing.
