Sportpark Goed Genoeg
Amsterdam, Netherlands
AFC — the Amsterdamsche Football Club — has played at Sportpark Goed Genoeg since 1961, but the artificial turf now under its feet was laid and signed off on 17 August 2018, complete with an infiltration system beneath it. Only afterwards did the clubhouse and the stands come down and go back up again, between 2019 and 2021.
That sequence is a consequence of where the ground sits. Goed Genoeg lies inside Zuidas , the business district Amsterdam has been building outward around it, and the rebuild was commissioned by the city's own project management bureau, Projectmanagementbureau Gemeente Amsterdam. The municipality owns the site; AFC rents it. HSB Bouw, of Volendam, put up the building and the stands, while Sallandse United handled the pitches and the logistics of getting them in. The new complex opened officially on 4 September 2021.
The club that moved back in is older than most of what surrounds it, founded in 1895, and it plays in the Tweede Divisie, the third tier of the Dutch league system.
