Match report
Ajax hosted Klootge in the first round of the Tweede Divisie regular season on 15 August 2026, but the visitors took all three points with a 3-1 victory. L. Admiraal gave the hosts an early lead in the 17th minute, but Klootge turned the game around after half-time. D. Gouda, E. Franse and J. Dijkstra scored in succession to secure the win.
Admiraal's goal came from sustained pressure, though Ajax never quite found their rhythm after the break. Klootge made the most of their chances, with Gouda heading in before half-time substitutions began reshuffling both sides. Franse added a second in the 81st minute, and Dijkstra sealed it late on.
By then, Ajax's dominance in possession counted for little. They had 65 per cent of the ball and 83 attacks, but only managed four shots on target. Klootge, with 35 per cent possession and 55 attacks, registered seven shots on target and converted three of their opportunities. The statistics tell a familiar story — many shots with one goal means chances went begging.
The result leaves Ajax eleventh on six points from four matches, while Klootge sit fifteenth with four points. Neither side has much to show for their league campaigns so far, but this performance suggests Klootge may have found something to build on.
