Stade Le Canonnier

The first proper stand went up in 1932, and the ground marked it with a friendly against Cercle Brugge that August, the same year the resident side restyled itself as Excelsior Mouscron on the way to becoming Royal Excelsior Mouscron.

What followed was not one grand rebuild but a stand-by-stand overhaul spread across the 1990s: the east stand rebuilt in 1991 with new floodlights, the north stand redone and the east lengthened in 1996, a south stand added in 1998, and finally the old west stand from 1932 torn down in 1999 and replaced with a block that carries a gym, a rehabilitation pool, hospitality boxes, a children's area — and, underneath it all, a chapel.

Royal Excelsior Mouscron and its successor clubs used the ground as their top-flight base for the better part of eighty years, until Royal Excel Mouscron folded in May 2022 and left Le Canonnier without a professional tenant. The revived amateur side Stade Mouscronnois has since taken it over as their own, playing in the provincial leagues under the same name the stadium has carried since 1930, with Deinze's under-21 side also using the pitch.
