Match report
Mačva claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Radnički Niš in the sixth round of the Super Liga on Saturday afternoon. The result keeps both sides in the lower reaches of the table, though Mačva maintain a point advantage over their visitors. Đorđe Đorđić's second-half strike proved decisive in a match that offered little in the way of entertainment.
The goal arrived in the sixty-fifth minute when Đorđić found space to finish. To be fair, both teams had created similar opportunities throughout the first half, but neither could find the breakthrough. Mačva's approach of sitting deep and hitting on the break suited them against a side that dominated possession without threatening.
The game was punctuated by yellow cards rather than drama. Five bookings fell to Mačva players while Radnički Niš collected four of their own. By then the pattern was clear — a cagey affair where neither side wanted to take unnecessary risks. The substitutions came in waves, with both managers looking for something different without committing fully.
The statistics tell you most of what matters. Radnički Niš enjoyed 57 per cent possession and launched 96 attacks compared to Mačva's 86. Yet the visitors registered only three shots on target while Mačva managed four. Both sides created one big chance, but the conversion rate tells its own story. Many shots with one goal means chances went begging.
Mačva now sit twelfth with seven points from seven games, while Radnički Niš remain thirteenth on five points from six matches. The home side extended their recent poor run, having lost four of their previous five fixtures. Radnički Niš's draw against IMT Novi Beograd earlier this month was their only positive result in similar span.
