Aaron Rodgers: Steelers Can Win the Super Bowl
The Steelers QB explained why he returned for a 22nd NFL season, praising his team's roster and leaders while calling the AFC North a tough division to navigate.
Aaron Rodgers says he came back to Pittsburgh because he believes the Steelers can win the Super Bowl.
Asked directly whether the Steelers belong among the teams with a genuine shot at it, the 42-year-old quarterback did not hesitate.
"Of course. That's exactly why I came back — because I believe in these guys," Rodgers said.
He also praised the special teams unit.
"I like our roster as a whole. We have good, experienced leaders. Now we just have to go out on the field and prove it. The AFC is very strong. Even in our own division, a few teams are looking to compete for the Super Bowl, and that's great," Rodgers said.
The division he means has already shifted this month. The Browns traded Myles Garrett to the Rams, a move Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph addressed only days ago, recalling the 2019 helmet-swinging clash between the two players. Garrett's departure leaves the AFC North looking different than it did a year ago, and Rodgers' comment about rivals chasing the same prize lands against that backdrop.
Rodgers returned to Pittsburgh in the spring and is entering his second season with the Steelers. He has won one Super Bowl in his career, with Green Bay following the 2010 season.
If the defence holds up the way Rodgers described, the Steelers' case rests less on his arm than on a roster he says is finally built to compete through a stacked conference.
