Matthew Stafford threw four touchdown passes in the Los Angeles Rams' 28:6 win over the New York Giants and moved into sixth place on the NFL's all-time list for passing touchdowns.
The third of those touchdowns, caught by Davante Adams, was the 426th of Stafford's career and took him past Philip Rivers, who finished with 425. By the final whistle Stafford had 427.
The 38-year-old now trails only Tom Brady (649), Drew Brees (571), Peyton Manning (539), Aaron Rodgers (528) and Brett Favre (508). Last season Stafford led the league with 46 touchdown passes.
He also moved into second place on the Rams' own list, with 145 touchdown passes for the club. That puts him ahead of Jim Everett (142) and behind only Roman Gabriel (154).
The Giants win came a week after the Rams' 7:27 defeat to the 49ers in their Australia debut, a trip coach Sean McVay said afterwards he hopes the team never repeats.
