About the player
Kerui Chen's road to Shandong Taishan ran through Portugal. In July 2014, he left the Shandong Football Association's youth ranks to join the academy of C.F. Os Belenenses, and it was there, on loan at C.D. Pinhalnovense in the 2015–16 season, that he made his senior debut, playing 19 matches in the Campeonato de Portugal.
In total he made 13 Chinese Super League appearances for Shandong Taishan between 2016 and 2022.
His career has since taken him through a series of moves on free transfers: to Chongqing Tonglianglong in April 2023, and from there to Rizhao Yuqi in June 2024. The Rizhao Yuqi club he now represents relocated to Lanzhou in 2025 and continues under the name Lanzhou Longyuan Athletic.
