Daniel Akrofi

The move from Accra to Belgrade came before Daniel Akrofi had played a senior match anywhere. He was a youth-team player at Accra Great Olympics, the club where he learned the game in his home city, and his next stop was Serbia — no intermediate senior club, no spell in a lower division on the way.

He arrived at FK IMT Novi Beograd in 2025 and was placed in the U19 side. The promotion to the senior squad followed. Transfer records list him joining the first team on a free transfer, though the paperwork and the football have not run in step: he was already attached to the club through the 2025/26 season.

The senior record so far is a blank one. Across the 2025/26 and 2026/27 campaigns, Akrofi has registered no goals and no assists in any competition. He has taken no titles with IMT — the club has won neither the Serbian SuperLiga nor the Serbian Cup in his time there — and he has collected no individual awards. Nor has he been capped by Ghana at senior level.

What that leaves is a teenager two years into a country he did not grow up in, still building a first-team career from a standing start. His preferred foot is not something the record keeps.
