About the player

Habib Diallo In 2018–2019, on loan back from Brest and restored to the Metz side, he scored 26 goals in Ligue 2, one short of the golden boot, and helped the club up into the top flight. He was named in the UNFP Ligue 2 Team of the Season and picked up the division's player-of-the-month award for August 2018.

It did. In October 2020, Strasbourg paid Metz €10 million plus bonuses for him, a club-record fee for the Alsace side. Al-Shabab in Riyadh paid a club-record €20 million to take him to Saudi Arabia. A loan spell at Damac followed before Al-Shabab chose not to make the move permanent, and Diallo returned to France in August 2025, signing back with Metz as a free agent on a three-year deal.

The reunion with Metz brought four goals in Ligue 1 during the 2025–2026 season, but the club's relegation meant another move: in September 2026 he joined Le Mans on a free transfer, signing until 2029.

Internationally, Diallo has been a regular presence for Senegal since his debut against Equatorial Guinea in November 2018, and in 2022 he was made a Grand Officer of the National Order of the Lion by the country's president.
