We had backed Lorient for victory with 83 per cent confidence, and the prediction did not come to pass. The match turned on those early minutes — Bourabaa's third-minute goal changed the geometry of the game, and Le Havre's ability to tighten things up after Diallo's strike proved decisive. Lorient talked themselves into a corner, and the wheels came off when they could not find a clean finish.
Le Havre remain 14th on three points, one behind Lorient in ninth. The result ended a run of draws for the hosts and gave them something to build on, while Lorient's away form continues to be a question mark.
