Josep Núñez

Núñez's career reads as a series of fresh starts rather than a single steady climb. He turned professional at Deportivo Municipal in 2022 and spent two seasons there, making around 40 appearances and scoring three goals, before that spell ended abruptly: in December 2023 he and teammate Eslyn Correa unilaterally terminated their contracts to leave the club after its relegation.

He moved on as a free agent to Cusco FC in January 2024, with just three appearances and no goals in the 2024 season. Cusco FC would go on to reach the Primera División final in 2025, but by then Núñez had already left, joining AD Agropecuaria in Jaén in the Peruvian second division. There he found more regular football, playing 16 matches and scoring once.

August 2025 brought another free transfer, this time to Comerciantes Unidos, where he added six appearances in the Liga 1 Clausura. His stay was short again, and by January 2026 he had signed for UTC in Cajamarca, once more without a fee changing hands. The move has given him his most productive run in senior football to date: 14 appearances, two goals and an assist, including a goal against Los Chankas in May 2026.

Every transfer of his career has come as a free agent, and he has yet to add a trophy or a senior title to his record. What stands out instead is the pattern itself — moving from Lima to Cusco, Jaén and now Cajamarca.
