About the player
Marthine Østenstad started her senior career at Klepp before a free transfer took her to IL Sandviken in 2021. A year later she moved to SK Brann, where she grew into the captain's armband and made 101 league appearances, scoring nine goals. Under her leadership Brann won back-to-back Toppserien titles in 2021 and 2022, adding the Norwegian Women's Cup in 2022.
That body of work earned her a free transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt Women in July 2025, on a contract running to 2028. She has since made 12 Bundesliga appearances and five in Europe for the club, wearing number 14 in defence.
Østenstad worked her way up through every Norwegian youth level, from the U15s through to the U23s, before making her senior debut on 1 December 2023 in a 4-3 win over Portugal. She has since won seven senior caps. Her biggest stage so far came at UEFA Women's EURO 2025, where she was called up as a replacement for Guro Bergsvand and featured in Norway's group games against Iceland, Switzerland and Finland, as well as the quarter-final against Italy.
