Ançã

José Malhoa turned out for Ançã in the 1968/69 season — not the footballer of that name but the singer.

The nickname "Ferryaço" — iron and steel — has stuck long enough to give the official blog its address. Ançã plays on artificial turf at the Parque Desportivo, where recent match reports put capacity at 2,000.

What the club has to show for itself is entirely local: four Campeão Distrital titles with the Coimbra Football Association, spaced out across 1976, 1990, 2004 and 2010, and a Divisão de Honra crown in 2006. It went further afield only once, spending four seasons in the national Terceira Divisão between 1976 and 1980 without winning it. The clearer sign of where the club actually stands came this year, when it beat Naval 1893 after extra time on 24 May 2025 to add the Supertaça AF Coimbra to a Taça AF Coimbra won the same season — a double inside its own district.

There is no fixture here billed as a derby; Ançã's regular business is with neighbours like Tocha and Botafogo of Cordinhã, matches that matter locally without a name attached to them.
