Besëlidhja Lezhë

Four names carried the club through its first four decades in Lezhë before Besëlidhja stuck in 1968: founded on 17 November 1930 as Bardhyli i Leshit, it became Lezha in 1949, then Puna Lezhë, then Fitore in 1958. The club belongs to the municipality of Lezhë and plays in yellow and red, the colours behind the nickname Northern Dragons.

The side reached the top division for the first time in 1936/37, but its record was built a level down: seven Kategoria e Parë titles arrived between 1969/70 and 1999/00. The 1980s were the best of it — sixth place in the Superliga in 1988/89 — with the forward Fehmi Rama, known as Furde, alongside Gjergji Filipi and the Gruda brothers, Xhabir and Aziz. Relegation followed in 1983, 1986 and 1990.

In 2017, Besëlidhja was thrown out of the Superliga over unpaid taxes, a boardroom penalty rather than anything decided on the pitch, and it took until 2025/26 — under a rebuild called Besëlidhja e Re, with Pierin Fushai as president and Elvis Plori coaching — to win the Kategoria e Dytë and start the climb back. Matches against Vllaznia Shkodër still carry the weight of a northern derby. Home games are played at Brian Filipi Stadium, which holds around 5,000. The club has never won the Superliga or the Albanian Cup; the badge has changed four names since Bardhyli i Leshit first ran out in Lezhë in 1930, and only the yellow and red never did.
