FK Kukesi

Fatos Hoxha took over Kukësi in 2010, when the club still carried the old name Përparimi. Investment followed his arrival, and by 2012 the side had climbed into the Kategoria Superiore for the first time under its new identity. The club had already changed names three times before that — from Shoqëria Sportive Kosova at its founding on 4 March 1930, through Sport Klub Kosova, to Përparimi in 1958 — but none of those earlier versions reached the top flight.

Armando Cungu took the team into European competition in 2013/14, and two years later Klodjan Duro delivered the run that mattered most: a Kupa e Shqipërisë win in 2015/16, followed within a year by the league title in 2016/17. Ranato Malota captained the side through much of that period, passing a hundred appearances along the way, while Gerhard Progni became one of its most reliable scorers.

Home games are played at the Stadiumi Zeqir Ymeri, rebuilt in 2012 and known since 2022 as the Kukës Arena. Kukësi play in blue and white.

The title year proved to be a peak rather than a plateau. The club dropped out of the Kategoria Superiore after the 2023/24 season and started 2024/25 in the second tier, working to force its way back into a division it once won outright, back in 2016/17.
