The league itself has stayed just out of reach — third place in 2013–14 and again in 2019–20, runners-up in 2021–22, but never top.

That runners-up campaign carried into Europe, where Laçi went through a Third Qualifying Round tie in the UEFA Europa Conference League, eliminating Universitatea Craiova before Anderlecht ended the run.

The club took its current name only in 1997, having started out in 1960 as Industriali Laç and spent the years after 1991 as KS Laçi. Laçi Stadium holds 2,271 and was rebuilt to UEFA standards in 2010; before that work was finished, home European ties were played in Durrës instead. Known as the Black and Whites for a kit that has not changed, the club found its old rival in nearby Mamurrasi — the "Derbi i Lezhës" — until Mamurrasi dissolved in 2017 and took the fixture with them.

Laçi went back up as champions of the Kategoria e Parë in 2025–26.
