Tirana

KF Tirana has answered to several names down the years: Sport Klub Tirana at its founding, then Shoqëria Agimi, before Albania's socialist state renamed it 17 Nëntori and later Puna as part of a wider reshuffle of the country's clubs. The original identity returned in 1991, restoring a club that traces back to 15 August 1920 — the oldest in Albania.

The White and Blues, Bardheblutë in Albanian, play in white and blue at Stadiumi Selman Stërmasi, a ground rebuilt in 2014–2015 to hold 7,308; the away kit is black. Bigger occasions now often move to the larger Air Albania Stadium.

Tirana's first championship came in 1930, its most recent in 2022. Along the way the club has also collected 16 Albanian Cups and 12 Albanian Super Cups. None of that softened the blow of 2016–17, when Tirana went down to the second division for the first time in its history — it returned in 2018.

The derby against Partizani Tirana, the Derbi i Madh, is the fixture that matters most in the capital; Dinamo Tirana supplies the other local rivalry. Riza Lushta left in the 1930s to become the first Albanian to play in Italy's Serie A, Panajot Pano is still spoken of as the finest player the club has produced, and Arben Minga was voted Tirana's Player of the Century in 2020. Elvis Sina, the club's record appearance-maker, played more than 470 times in the shirt.
