CA Vila Rica

For two seasons running, the side that ran out in purple and black wasn't quite itself: in 2007 it played as Vila Rica/Cametá, and in 2008 as Vila Rica/Marajó, before reverting to Clube Atlético Vila Rica in 2009.

The club came together in the Pedreira neighbourhood of Belém on 27 June 1987, and has spent most of the years since shuttling between the top flight and the second tier of the Campeonato Paraense, rarely settling in either for long. Supporters know it as Cachorro Doido.

Its honours belong almost entirely to that second tier: the divisional title came in 1995, again in 2001, and once more in 2007, the same year the Cametá arrangement was in place. A Taça ACLEP followed in 2008.

Home games are played at the Mangueirão, a stadium built to hold 45,007. Recent form has not closed that gap: a 14th-place finish in the 2024 Série B1 sent the club down to the third tier, Série A3, for 2025.

What the club has kept, through the name changes and the drops between divisions, is the identity it settled on back in Pedreira.
