Kadetten is a word from the barracks. A military cadet corps, set up for training in 1791, is where the handball club from Schaffhausen takes its name and its origins.
Kadetten won the Swiss National League (NLA) in 2005, 2006 and 2007, then again in 2010, 2011 and 2012. A seventh followed in 2014.
The second run began in a season that also took the club further than the league could. In 2010 Kadetten reached the final of the European Handball Federation (EHF) Cup and finished second. In 2016-17 they played in the group stage of the EHF Champions League.
The seven league titles are all on the domestic side of the ledger.
