DHC Slavia Prague Women

DHC Slavia Prague Women closed the 2025/26 Czech Extraliga season with the title.

The section grew out of SK Slavia Prague, founded on 10 September 1919, and built its name in two distinct eras: five Czechoslovak championships between 1926 and 1960, then eight Czech titles from 1991 to 2023, plus the two most recent. The high point abroad came early, in 1961, when Slavia reached the final of the European Cup and lost to Știința Bucharest.

Jana Knedlíková came through the Prague set-up before going on to collect six EHF Champions League titles elsewhere, a mark still used in Prague to measure what the club's academy can produce. Domestically, the fixture that matters most is against DHK Baník Most, the rivalry that decides bragging rights in Czech women's handball more often than any European tie does.

Home games are played at Hala Slavia Eden, a 1,200-seat hall that keeps crowds close to the court rather than lost in a bigger arena. With the Extraliga trophy back in the cabinet, the question for Slavia now is whether 2026 marks the start of another sustained run at the top or another isolated peak before the next gap.
