István Ilku pulled on the red and black 404 times, more than anyone else who has worn a Dorogi FC shirt.
The club was founded on 1 March 1914 as an athletics and football association and has since changed its name eight times. When the local mine stopped funding the team in 1994, the town council kept it running.
Between 1945 and 1977, Dorog spent 24 seasons in the top flight, Nemzeti Bajnokság I; the highest they finished was fourth, in 1962–63.
The derby against Tatabánya, the other football town of Komárom-Esztergom county, has been played 55 times. Dorog now sits in the third tier, with Csaba Csizmadia, once a player for the club, appointed head coach in November 2025.
Four hundred and four appearances. Ilku's record has stood since he retired, and no one at the club has come close.
