Szentlőrinc SE

The Sporttelep in Szentlőrinc holds 1,020 people. In the spring of 2020 the season was cut short, Szentlőrinc were sitting second in the Central group of NB III, and the promotion came to them.

They did it properly four years later. The 2023/24 title in the South-Western group of NB III was won on the pitch, and the same season took the club further into the Hungarian Cup than the ground had ever seen — to the last 16, where Nyíregyháza Spartacus beat them 5-1.

The club spent most of its competitive life inside Baranya county. The county second division was won in 1982, 1985, 1994 and 1997; the first division followed in 2000 and again in 2015. The Dráva group of NB III was a more familiar home than the county leagues for a stretch in the 2000s — champions in 2004, 2006, 2008, and then in consecutive seasons in 2009 and 2010, which is the closest thing to a settled era in the club's record.

The under-15s took a national age-group title in 2021/22, a result the club made more of than most of its senior placings.

All of it grew from a football section set up in the town in 1912, when Szentlőrinc was a market settlement west of Pécs and the competitive football available was whatever the surrounding district could arrange. The first championship in the record books dates from 1957, a spring-season group win in the South-Western regional association — forty-five years of football that left the club, at that point, still playing among its neighbours.
