Fenerbahce

The Ülker Sports and Event Hall sits in Istanbul's Ataşehir district and holds around 13,500 people. Fenerbahçe moved in during 2012 and has stayed since.

The basketball section traces back to 1913, when it formed as the first team organised under a sports club umbrella anywhere in the Ottoman Empire. It took until 1944, under Muhtar Sencer and Cem Atabeyoğlu, for the club to be rebuilt.

Željko Obradović took over in 2013 and delivered the club's first EuroLeague title four years later, beating Olympiacos 80–64 on home soil in Istanbul. Šarūnas Jasikevičius succeeded him in 2020 and needed until 2025 to add a second, this time against AS Monaco in Abu Dhabi, with Nigel Hayes-Davis taking the MVP award. Between the two European titles, Fenerbahçe also became the first Turkish team to beat an NBA side, knocking off the Boston Celtics in 2018 and the Brooklyn Nets the following year.

Domestically the club has piled up Turkish Super League titles across seven decades, from 1957 through to 2026, with the Turkish Cup won ten times over the same stretch. None of that softens what happens against Galatasaray.
