Gemert

Sportpark Molenbroek holds 4,000 and sits on Sportlaan in Gemert, a small ground built to the scale of a club that has spent most of its history in amateur football rather than chasing a bigger one.

VV Gemert was founded on 15 October 1912, and its record for most of the century that followed was a steady climb through the district and regional classes. The club only reached the amateur game's summit in 2010, when it won the National Sunday Amateur Championship and became a founding member of the Topklasse, the highest level Dutch amateur football has. It did not stay there long — relegation followed after the 2012–13 season — and Gemert spent the rest of the decade working its way back through the Hoofdklasse before returning to the top tier, by then renamed the Derde Divisie, in 2020.

The black-and-white shirts, worn with vertical stripes, gave the club its nickname, de zwartwitten. Matches against Blauw Geel '38, from neighbouring Veghel, are the fixture supporters mark on the calendar first. Ralf Kemper has done more than most to keep Gemert competitive at this level, finishing as the Derde Divisie's top scorer with 25 goals in a season and passing a century of goals for the club overall.

What Gemert has not done is turn that one Topklasse season into anything lasting.
