The Golden Eagles head into Southern Conference play still working out where they sit after leaving the Ohio Valley Conference, the league that shaped most of the program's recent identity. Tennessee Tech competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision out of Cookeville, and the move to the SoCon put an end to a run that had defined the team for over a decade.
No FCS national title sits alongside those conference crowns, but the consistency of that OVC record is rare on its own terms.
The program dates to 1922, long before the OVC existed, and has worn gold and blue for most of that span. Home games are played at Tucker Stadium, which holds 16,500.
