Gubbio

The wolf on Gubbio's crest predates any football played under it, and the Wolves, known locally as Lupi, wearing the red and blue that earned the second tag, Rossoblù. Before there was a football club there was SPES, a Gubbio sports society formed in 1908; its football section split away in 1910 and only became its own formal sector on 25 March 1913.

Gubbio has reached Serie B twice, and both stays lasted exactly one season. The first came in 1947-48, after beating Baracca Lugo in the promotion playoffs that followed the 1946-47 Serie C campaign; relegation that same year tipped the club into bankruptcy in 1949, and it had to rebuild from the bottom of the regional pyramid. The second arrived in 2011-12, after Vincenzo Torrente led the side to the Lega Pro Prima Divisione title the year before; Gubbio went straight back down again.

Home is the Stadio Pietro Barbetti, capacity 5,300, the ground Gubbio moved into in 1977 after years at Stadio San Benedetto, known locally as the Fossa dei Leoni. The Derby dell'Umbria against Perugia carries the regional weight; the shorter trip to Foligno carries the local one. Sauro Notari chairs the club now, with Domenico Di Carlo in the dugout for 2025-26.
