Igman Konjic

The season that put Konjic on the map of Bosnian top-flight football: the club went out of the 2021–22 cup at the semi-final stage, and won the Prva liga FBiH in the same year. That promotion was the first time in more than a century of the club's existence that Igman had a place in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Getting there took a long apprenticeship in the lower divisions. Five times — in 2005–06, 2008–09, 2012–13, 2015–16 and 2016–17 — Igman won the southern group of the Druga liga FBiH. The pattern repeated often enough that the 2022 promotion read as the end of a sequence rather than a surprise.

The stay was short. In 2024–25 the club was relegated from the Premier League.

Home is the Gradski Stadion Konjic, opened in 1977 and holding 5,000 — a figure that means something in a town the size of Konjic, on the Neretva, which also gave the club the nickname its supporters use: Romantics from the Neretva. The other one, Beštije, translates as Beasts. Red and white are the colours.

Football in Konjic stopped altogether during the war of 1992–95. Organised play did not resume until the 1995–96 season, when Igman restarted in the First League of Bosnia and Herzegovina — a club picking up a thread that had been cut for three years, in a country that had changed its borders in the meantime.

The thread itself runs back to 1920, when the club was founded in a town on the river it is still named for.
